Launch of Homelessness Sunday resources
The run up to Homelessness Sunday 2003 begins today with the arrival of the resource packs issuing A Call for Change. Homelessness Sunday this year will take place on 26 January 2003, and the Catholic Housing Aid Society (CHAS) is Calling for Change in society where tens of thousands of people are homeless and many more suffer from the isolation and despair that goes with having a roof but not a home. The tenth annual Homelessness Sunday will enable churches of all denominations to commit themselves to action for change in personal, practical and political ways. The resource packs now available include: Information and ideas for worship and action; resources for children and young people; prayers; drama. statistic; Bible study; sermon notes; case studies; action suggestions; prayer cards; publicity material, including a poster. Homelessness Sunday this year asks us to work for change - to speak up for all those who are effected by homelessness and to work together to build a caring society where every one understands that not having a home is unjust and unnecessary. Join us in A Call for Change. Homelessness Sunday 2003 will be on 26 January 2003. It is organised by CHAS (the Catholic Housing Aid Society) on behalf of the Homelessness Sunday Partnership. The Homelessness Sunday Partnership is made up of the Catholic Housing Aid Society, the Churches National Housing Coalition and the Scottish Churches Housing Agency. Last year's Homelessness Sunday involved over 2,000 churches and other groups from all over Britain, holding special services, raising money for local projects and putting on awareness-raising events. For more information or to order your resource pack contact hs@chasnational.org.uk, or phone Dan or Ellen at CHAS on 020 7723 7273. Resources are also available on a disc.
