Liverpool prays for Iraq hostage
Prayers were being said in churches and mosques across Liverpool last night, for Kenneth Bigley, 62, who is being held captive in Iraq. The father of two who was involved in reconstruction work in Iraq, was taken from his house in Baghdad last week, with US citizen Jack Hensley and American Eugene Armstrong. They were reported to have been killed. yesterday. St Mary's Anglican Parish Church in Walton, near Mr Bigley's home, held a candlelight vigil for all denominations to pray for his safe return. The Vicar, Rev Trevor Latham said: "The people have all come together to support each other and to pray for the family. At a time like this they can't just go and knock on the door."
