West London students raise funds for Nepal earthquake relief
Enterprising students at one west London school raised over £500 in 20 minutes for the Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund last week. Sixth Form students from the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School held their own Charity Cake Sale in the school playground, Staff Room and Sixth Form Common Room for staff and pupils to bake, eat cake and donate to this urgent cause.
School press officer Hannah Staff said: "From a Coca-Cola chocolate cake to Rocky Roads and classic cupcakes, the range of homemade sweet treats was fantastic with everything sold out within the 20-minute morning break time, raising £500 for the Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund."
The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School celebrated their centenary last year. They have also been voted Sunday Times Comprehensive School of the year.
