Churches join protests at Europe's largest arms fair
Christians of all denominations were out in force on Saturday at the "No Arms Fair" Unity March through London, which protested at Europe's largest arms fair being held in the capital this week. Members of Pax Christi and Christian CND walked alongside members of Stop the Arms Trade and other groups from Victoria Embankment through Trafalgar Square, the Houses of Parliament, Downing Street and The Ministry of Defence. The march ended outside The Imperial War Museum, Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park in South London. Many more peace events are being planned this week, including a conference, workshops and further protests. A multi-faith silent prayer vigil will take place today outside the ExCel centre in Docklands where the fair is being held.
