Memorial Mass for miscarried babies and their families
Preparations have started in the West Country, for an annual Mass for miscarried babies and their families. The service will take place on 1 November, the Feast of All Saints, at St Paul's Catholic church in Tintagel, Cornwall, and the organisers are inviting all people who have lost a child, to send in their names for inclusion in a Remembrance Book. St Paul`s Miscarriage Support Group was founded by Miriam and Myke Rosenthal-English in 1995 after the loss of their first child Ruth, at 14 weeks. Myke said that after losing the baby they felt they had nowhere to turn. He said: "Prayer was difficult and no one wanted to talk about the spiritual side of a miscarriage. Since we began the group, we have had messages from parents all over the world. One thing which has been most appreciated by those who have lost a child has been the Remembrance Book which is placed on the altar at daily Mass." If you would like to be included in the book, or for more information on the group, visit: http://beehive.thisiscornwall.co.uk/tintagelcatholic then click on the miscarriage support page.
