Course on Gospel of St Mark: Who do you say I am?

The Hurtado Jesuit Centre in London's East End is staging a six-week seminar this autumn, exploring the Gospel of St Mark. The course is entitled Who Do You Say I am? Discovering the Gospel of Mark. It will be led by Fr Peter Edmonds SJ who will explore Mark's account of the life and teaching of Jesus and provide course members with an opportunity to study the Gospel in depth.

This programme is designed for people who can commit to attending all six sessions and to participating actively as a member of the seminar group. No qualifications or previous experience are needed - simply a commitment to regular attendance! There is a maximum of 12 places which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so early registration is recommended.

Who Do You Say I am? - the question Jesus posed to his disciples at Caesarea Philippi (Mark 8: 29), will take place on consecutive Tuesday evenings from 2 October until 13 November, between 7.30pm and 9pm. Registration for the course is open until 20 September 2012. The course fee is £30. However, organisers say no one should feel excluded on financial grounds, so people can make a donation which they can afford.

Fr Edmonds is the author of several books on the Sunday Lectionary, the Gospel of Luke in particular and on the Synoptic Gospels in general.
