Westminster: Canon Patrick Davies has died
A note on the Newman House blog says: 'The Vicar General of Westminster has announced the sad news that Canon Pat Davies, Senior Chaplain to the London Universities from 1980-1987, died on Tuesday afternoon.
'We offer our prayers for the repose of his soul, and for comfort for all who mourn him.
May he rest in peace.'
Canon Pat Davies was parish priest at Our Lady of the Assumption in Warwick Street, London. He had been suffering from Parkinson's Disease for some time.
Born in 1938, Canon Pat worked for Burmah Oil before he was ordained at the age of 40. He served as a London University Chaplain, and priest at Kingsbury, and established Westminster's Justice and Peace Commission. Between 1992-1997 Canon Pat was Assistant General Secretary to the Bishops' Conference in England and Wales working on international relations and global justice and peace issues.
