Ecumenical service at Potters Bar
Churches in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire are holding a joint service this weekend to pray for those involved in last Friday's rail crash in which seven people were killed and over 40 injured. The ecumenical 'Service of Prayer and Reflection' will be held on Sunday, 19 May at 6pm at St. Mary the Virgin and All Saints Church, the Walk, Potters Bar. The Rt Revd. Christopher Herbert, Bishop of St Albans, will be giving the address and the Catholic Bishop of Westminster, the Rt Revd James O'Brien will also be taking part. A candle will be lit in memory of those killed in the accident. In addition to the many local people who are expected to attend, invitations for the service have been issued to civic leaders, and senior members of the emergency services and rail industry. The service will be relayed to an adjoining hall and to the courtyard outside the church.
