New York chaplain among the dead
Fr Mychal Judge, a Roman Catholic chaplain with the New York City Fire Department, was one of the first named casualties of yesterday's terrorist outrage. He had rushed to the World Trade building to comfort victims, only to be killed in the collapse. Fr Mychal took part recently in a service of remembrance for the victims of TWA flight 800, which crashed in New York on July 17 1996. Newspapers pictures at time showed him standing on the shore before a service in which 230 candles were lit for those who died.
