New church in the 'roof of the world'
Comment Email Print
Construction has just begun in Ladakh, northern India, on what will be the highest church ever built. At about 11,550 feet above sea level, Ladakh, in the Himalayas, is known as 'the roof of the world'. Though it is a mainly Hindu and Buddhist area, it has a small Catholic community, many of whom serve in the Indian army.
