News brief: latest on attack on missionary in Uganda
On Thursday we reported that Polish missionary Father Boguslaw Zero had been injured during an ambush carried out by the rebels of the 'Lord's Resistance Army' in northern Uganda. Fr Boguslaw, 30, of the Missionaries of Africa, (White Fathers) was returning to his parish church in Acumet after having spent the night in the diocesan seminary, sheltering from the rebels when his vehicle was hit by a spray of bullets. We were told that he had suffered a minor injury to his hand. We have just spoken with Fr Boguslaw this morning, and he said he had not been injured. However he said a passenger travelling in the car with him had been killed in the attack. The victim was a man in his thirties. Describing the experience as "traumatic" Fr Boguslaw told ICN: "The situation here is very serious".
