First receptions into Redditich Carmelite Third Order
The first-ever RCSG Receptions into the Third Order of Carmel, Secular, took place on Saturday in Redditch, in the only church within the Birmingham Archdiocese dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Thanks to Father David Doran, Priest of the parish, with the blessing of the Parish Priest Father Anthony Rohan, the Rite of Reception took place during the beautiful celebration of Mass for the Patronal Feast Day - a special day for the parish as well as the Carmelite Order.
The Convenor and Formater, Caroline Holland with the aid of the Assistant Convenor, Susan Salam, Received Christine Watson, Jane Yeomans and Monique Hunt into the Order. Each one was clothed in the Reception Scapular, and presented with a copy of the Rule of Saint Albert and the Constitutions, a copy of the New Testament, as well as a Third Order badge.
After Mass, the celebrations continued for the group with a meal attended by family and friends.
The group first began meeting in the Parish Centre in July 2015, and went on to be Officially Established in January this year.
