London: Making Time for Matter, Mind and Spirit at Meditatio Centre
Professor Bernard Carr will lead an evening on 'Making Time for Matter, Mind and Spirit' at the Meditatio Centre in Islington on Thursday.
Although physics claims to be close to a 'Theory of Everything', two features of the world are still far from understood: time and consciousness.
The role of time is very different in relativity theory and quantum theory, so its physical status is unclear. Most physicists neglect consciousness altogether, even though it appears to be so fundamental. A key feature of consciousness is the flow of time but the relationship between physical time and psychological time poses a profound mystery. A new psychophysical paradigm is required, and this may elucidate the link between matter, mind and spirit.
Making Time for Matter, Mind and Spirit with Prof Bernard Carr takes place on Thursday 26 May from 6.30 - 9pm at The Meditatio Centre in St Marks, Myddelton Square, London EC1XX.
