'Homeless Jesus' seeks a home

Pope Francis blesses Homeless Jesus

One of the world's great artists is on a mission to find homes in London, and throughout the UK, for his latest and most controversial work, 'Jesus the Homeless.'

Timothy Schmalz, the Canadian-born sculptor, is asking people for the names of places in London, and beyond, they think would make suitable homes for this life-size depiction of Christ sleeping under cover on a bench. The only way one can tell that it is Jesus is by the visible wounds on his feet.

The Vatican invited Tim to Rome last year to present his 'Homeless Jesus' to Pope Francis. The Holy Father liked it very much and gave it his blessing. The city of Rome will be installing a "Homeless Jesus" statue later this year at the base of Via della Conciliazione, the street that leads up to St. Peter's Basilica.

Tim hopes to find homes for his "Homeless Jesus" in other cities around the world as well.
