Competition: churches offered chance to attend movie premiere

The star-studded red-carpet premiere of Chariots of Fire will take place in central London on 10 July. The digitally remastered film will go on general release in cinemas across the UK on 13 July.
Chariots of Fire tells the true story of two athletes in the 1924 Olympics: Eric Liddell, a devout Scottish Christian who runs for the glory of God, and Harold Abrahams, an English Jew who runs to overcome prejudice.
This classic film was written by Colin Welland and directed by Hugh Hudson. It was nominated for seven Academy Awards in 1982 and won four, including Best Picture. It is ranked 19th in the British Film Institute's list of Top 100 British films.
Damaris is working in partnership with More Than Gold, to promote resources to enable church communities to make the most of this inspiring film, which celebrates universal values of passion, dedication and trust. Tickets are being offered to parishes and church groups building Chariots of Fire into their outreach plans around the time of the Olympics.
The deadline for the competition is Midnight, 1 July 2012. For more information on the resources, and to enter the competition, see: www.damaris.org/chariots-church.
