Jewish New Year Greetings, message & song

Happy Rosh Hashonah ! Rabbi Michael Lerner has sent the following message which I would like to share with ICN readers:

"Just a short note to send you blessings for the New Year - may it be filled with love, well-being, psychological and spiritual well-being, and joy, for you and all your family and friends, plus real steps globally toward peace, social justice, environmental sanity, and a new spirit of generosity and caring for each other.

"If I have offended you in any way this past year, I ask you now to forgive me. In the frenetic pace I have to keep in order to do the variety of things that I'm working on (editing Tikkun, rabbi of Beyt-Tikkun synagogue-without-walls in Berkeley, chair of the Network of Spiritual Progressives, finishing my new book Embracing Israel/Palestine, wriitng op-eds and caring for my family and my new and as yet un-house-broken puppy) I sometimes miscommunicate or fail to let you know how important the people who help me keep these projects afloat are to me.

"And, of course, I hope you understand that when I have to keep on asking for money it isn't for me personally (I'm now working without salary from Tikkun or the Network of Spiritual Progressives), but just to keep being able to serve our community and pay our tiny staff.

"So please forgive me on that front and on any other in which I have hurt or offended you."
