CD of music for new Missal

A double CD from the Music Makers is shortly to become available containing the music of the newly translated Missal. The new Missal includes a great deal of music and encourages priests and people to sing the Mass rather than say it. The CD will contain examples of all parts of the Mass sung by priest, deacon and people. In addition to being a teaching aid for those wishing to sing the Mass, it should also be of interest to those wishing to familiarise themselves with the language of the new translation.

There are two voices singing all the people's parts in order to make a clear distinction between priest and congregation. This also helps to make the CD as clear as possible.

There are full music settings of over 90 Prefaces contained in the Missal. These will soon be offered as a free resource for downloading from a website in mp3 file format. This is because there are too many to fit on to the CDs.

There is some Latin and Greek in the Altar Missal in addition to the English translation to be used as an alternative, which have been included.

The Easter Proclamation (Exsultet) is also included - both short and full versions and sung at two pitches to suit different voices

Full details of the CD will appear on the website - www.themusicmakers.org - sample tracks will also appear shortly on the website.

And with your spirit will be sold later this month by the Catholic Truth Society, St Pauls Bookshops, Redemptorist Publications, Pauline Books & Media, elsewhere and direct from The Music Makers. The UK RRP of the Double CD is £14.94 including VAT.
