Women's organisation starts 'Garland of Prayer' for priests
A Christmas Garland of prayer for priests has been started by the Association of Catholic Women this week. Participants are being invited to pray for priests, and to let the organisers know of their prayers. A special document, listing the total number of prayers, will be presented to the Bishops of England and Wales as an end-of-year gift. "Although this is launched by a women's organisation, of course men as well as women are warmly invited to take part," said association chair Josephine Robinson. "We see the project as a positive response to the challenges faced by many priests today, and also as a sign of deep gratitude to all those who serve the Church so faithfully and courageously." "As Catholic women we want to show solidarity with our priests in the work that they do." People are invited to offer any prayer they like - a decade of the Rosary, or a Memorare, are among those suggested. Simple forms on which the prayers are recorded are available from: ACW, 22 Surbiton Hill Park, Surbiton KT5 8ET. (send SAE) source:ACW
