Comment Email Print
This year's annual Catholic Stage Guild Mass at Corpus Christ's in Maiden Lane, Covent Garden, will be a thanksgiving and celebration of the life of Sir Alec Guinness. Sir Alec, who died in 2000, was vice president of the Guild. The Mass will be celebrated by Canon John McDonald, chaplain to the Guild. Soloists Elizabeth Ward, Reginald Eppey and Charlotte Williams will be singing in the Missa de Angelis. Spokesman for the Guild, Michael Slater, said: "Sir Alec Guinness always said he didn't want a big Requiem Mass, but we thought it would be appropriate to have a smaller service like this in thanksgiving for his life." All are welcome to the Mass which takes place next Thursday at 7pm on 7 October.
