A conference on the UK government's proposed replacement for the Trident nuclear weapon will take place on Thursday, 5 October at St Vincent's Centre, Carlisle Place. Speakers will be the Hon Douglas Roche, Bruce Kent and Pat Gaffney. Douglas Roche is a Canadian author, parliamentarian and diplomat, who has specialised throughout his 34-year career in peace and human security issues. Mr Roche was also a former Special Adviser on disarmament and security to the Holy See. Bruce Kent is national spokesperson for peace and anti-nuclear campaigner, founder of the Movement to Abolish War, vice-president of Pax Christi and CND Chair.
