From Finland to Catholic Bible School

On Sunday 7 October, the Catholic Bible School at Nutbourne, near Chichester, welcomes Rev Aija Kaartinen, a Lutheran Pastor from Finland to lead a day entitled Understanding Icons and How to pray using them. Aija Kaartinen is an experienced international retreat leader. For many years she was chaplain to the Finnish Lutherans living in Italy, and she lived and worked with the Brothers of Don Calabria as a member of their ecumenical retreat team. Having grown up with a Lutheran father and Orthodox mother, Aija has a special interest in icons and is an accomplished icon painter. At the conclusion of the day, Mass will be celebrated by Royal Navy Chaplain, Fr Richard Blythen.
