Spanish missionary killed

Fr Isidro Uzcudun, 69, was killed on Saturday in the parish of Mugina, in Kaabaya diocese. Fr Isidro was a Fidei Donum priest from the diocese of San Sebastian in Spain. He was born in 1931 and ordained in 1957. He had been serving in the Rwandan diocese of Kabgayi for several years. Missionary sources report that Fr Isidro was attacked at about 5pm which speaking with a young man who had come to visit him in the presbytery. Two men, one wearing a uniform and one in civilian clothes entered the building and demanded money at gunpoint. They then shot Fr Isidro. He died shortly after the attack.
