The Comboni Father reported missing this week in the war-torn Democratic republic of Congo has been found. Fr Ngumba Lelo Joseph is safe and well, in spite of his injuries, the Comboni Fathers told reporters. He will be undergoing surgery soon, they explained. Fr Ngumba disappeared a week ago during violent fighting between the Rwandan and Ugandan troops in the city of Kisangani, north-eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. He had been last seen trying to get to a hospital for medical treatment and there were serious concerns for his well-being. The humanitarian situation in the city has been described by the UN as 'catastrophic'. There is no water, food or medical supplies and hundreds have been left homeless as whole neighbourhoods have been destroyed.
