Comment Email Print
Representatives of the European Catholic Bishops' Conference and a delegation from the Serbian Orthodox Church have called this week for an end to sanctions on the former Yugoslavia. In a joint statement from Brussels, the religious groups said: "The poorest people in Yugoslavia (sic), particularly among the refugees, have suffered both physically and mentally .... They are the main victims of economic sanctions imposed by western governments."
