Carnival and cathedral bombed
Explosions at a carnival and a Roman Catholic cathedral have killed at least two people and injured many more. Church aid workers report that there was a huge explosion at a street festival in Monkayo on Monday. There was also a blast at the cathedral in Jolo province in the Southern Phillipines injuring one man. This was the third explosion on Jolo in less then two weeks. Muslim extremists are holding 29 hostages there, including 15 foreigners.
