Volunteers working with school children

The Columban 'Faith in Action' programme is an opportunity for enthusiastic young adults to join the Columban Mission team in Britain, to explore their faith through active participation in mission and to give their time, skills and energy in support of disadvantaged and vulnerable people.

We are excited to be recruiting two local young adult volunteers to embark on a year-long journey of personal development and growth running from 19 September 2022 - 31 August 2023.

The ideal candidates will have a sense of faith and belonging to the Christian community and be willing to reflect on their faith and its meaning. They will have a proven ability to relate to a wide variety of people and engage with different worldviews whilst immersing themselves within the lives of disadvantaged people. In addition to this they will have experience of working with church groups and a passion for working with young people and engaging them in educational activities.

The first Invitation to Mission programme saw a group from Britain travel to El Paso during Holy Week in 2015. Since then, we have run six further Invitation to Mission programmes and a mix of Columban supporters, educators, activists and co-workers have taken part in a learning experience, growing in faith and understanding through preparation in the UK, a 10-day visit overseas and follow up on return.

Deadline for applications 1st July 2022.
