A unique opportunity to participate The Life in the Spirit Seminars on-line has been organised by the new Southwark diocesan Agency for Evangelisation and Catechesis and the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Team.

It consists of five Tuesday evenings 8pm-9.30pm starting 4th May-1st June 2021, including Pentecost retreat afternoon Saturday 22nd May 2pm-5pm.

Speakers include Archbishop John Wilson, Fr Pat Collins CM, Fr Paschal Uche, Barbara Mason, Kathryn Murrell and Teresa Carvalho.

BACKGROUND TO LIFE IN THE SPIRIT SEMINARS

As people who have done them know, the Life in the Spirit Seminars is a wonderful course which has been responsible over the years for opening Catholics up to new levels of the working of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

It is a course that originated in the Charismatic Renewal, but is now being offered by Southwark diocesan agency for Evangelisation and Catechesis as the fruits of the course have been recognised.

Pope Francis has even asked that they be run wherever possible across the Church to help equip people spiritually to become missionary disciples.

Although it is not ideal to do the course online, several groups have been running them on line and found them just as effective as when they are done in the traditional manner.

God will use whatever means He has at his disposal for those who are spiritually hungry because as we know it is the attitude of our hearts and sense of expectancy which brings about personal change and transformation.

The Life in the Spirit seminars are just a means for this to happen.

The sessions will involve a few songs of praise, a talk and then a small group sharing discussing the talk. During the week participants will be encouraged to read the Acts of the Apostles and meditate on a short scripture quote every day.

The themes of the talks are God's love (1), Salvation(2), New Life in the Holy Spirit(3), Repentance and Faith(4), Prayer for Baptism in the Holy Spirit(5), Growth(6) and Transformation(7).

Talks 4 and 5 will be given on Saturday 22nd May 2pm-5pm, when there will also be a special prayer for a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit on participants. This will be led by a Vincention priest in Ireland called Fr Pat Collins CM.

Archbishop John Wilson, the archbishop of our diocese will be giving talk six on Growth in the Spiritual life.

We will have our own parish small group. Either one or two groups depending on how many people register.
