On Friday, as the world celebrates the Feast of St Francis, and as the Season of Creation comes to an end, Pope Francis will hold a Season of Creation event in the Vatican gardens. During the event, Pope Francis will plant a tree alongside indigenous leaders from the Amazon region and consecrate the upcoming synod on the Amazon to St Francis. The tree he will plant is a Holms Oak, the species reputed to be what the birds sat in to listen to the sermon of St Francis.
Watch the event live starting at 6am New York, 11am London, 12noon Rome, 6pm in Manila here: www.vaticannews.va/en.html
