London: Conference on homeless street deaths

The number of homeless people dying on city streets around the UK has increased considerably over the past few years.

This event on Thursday, 26 September from 1 - 4.30pm, at Toynbee Hall, 28 Commercial Street, London E1 6LS, looks at data collection, serious case reviews following a rough sleeper's death, palliative care and how deaths may be prevents in future.

Speakers include Dr Caroline Shulman, from King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Mary Kneafsey, PRHA, speaking on palliative care for homeless people; Jess Turtle, from the Museum of Homelessness; and Suzy Solley from Groundswell on Preventing Deaths Through Improved Healthcare for Homeless People.

Mark Brennan from Housing Justice will speak about the Annual Service of Commemoration which takes place at St Martin in the Fields, Trafalgar Square this year on 14 November from 11am - 12.30pm.
