London Oratory Schola releases new recording ahead of US tour

The London Oratory Schola has just released a new recording worldwide: Sacred Treasures of Spain.

The album features some of the most beautiful music from the Spanish renaissance, including works by Victoria, Lobo and Guerrero. Much of the repertoire on both Sacred Treasures of Spain and our previous recording Sacred Treasures of England will be performed on the Schola's forthcoming tour of the United States which begins this week.

Following the success of the Schola's tour to the East Coast of the USA in 2017 (Boston, New York & Washington DC) this tour will take the choir to Utah and California. The choir will be singing a programme of sacred music from the English and Spanish renaissance.

Beginning in Salt Lake City, UT, the Schola will sing a Mass and Concert at the beautiful Cathedral of the Madeleine. The Schola will then travel to Southern California to sing Mass and the first ever concert in the newly-consecrated Christ Cathedral (formerly the Crystal Cathedral) in the Diocese of Orange.

The next stop on the tour is Thomas Aquinas College, Santa Paula, CA where the Schola will sing a Musical Oratory and Evening Compline at the beautiful Chapel of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity, designed by award-winning architect Duncan Stroik.

The Schola will join the Mission Trail, singing at three of California's historic Missions: Santa Barbara Mission, then Carmel Mission Basilica (in conjunction with the Carmel Bach Festival) and finally Mission Dolores in San Francisco. The last day of the tour will include sung Mass at San Francisco Cathedral celebrated by Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone.

Further information is available on the Schola website TOUR PAGE: where tickets for the concerts are now available. In addition you will be able to follow the tour through social media channels, via Facebook and Twitter.

The new album is available from Amazon and iTunes. Watch the promotional video HERE.
