Westminster Cathedral to host 2019 Mass for Migrants
London is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, home to many migrant communities who make a great contribution to our economy - working in the NHS, education, architecture, building trades, catering and many other fields. Some arrive seeking shelter from oppression and war-torn countries.
Many of the new migrants are Catholics, and bring a great deal to the life of their new parish families.
Every year one of London's three Dioceses: Westminster, Southwark and Brentwood, organise a Mass in support of Migrants.
This year's celebration, in honour of St Joseph the Worker, will be at 10.30am on Monday, 6th May (Bank Holiday Monday) in Westminster Cathedral with with Bishop Michael Campbell OSA as the principal celebrant.
The Mass will be preceded by a colourful Banner Procession, with representatives from London's diverse communities, occupations and civic organisations, starting in the Cathedral Piazza at 10am.
