London: Hand in petition with Lord Dubs to help child refugees
Right now there are more child refugees in Europe than at any point since World War Two. Many of them are unaccompanied. As winter approaches, some of these youngsters are living in desperate conditions.
Just before the outbreak of WW2, Lord Dubs was one of 10,000 children rescued from Nazi Germany on the Kindertransport. He is now leading a campaign asking our Government to show the same compassion to the refugee children today.
More than 30,000 supporters have signed Lord Dubs' petition asking Theresa May to grant at-risk child refugees protection in Britain. The campaign is inviting readers to come and join Lord Dubs to hand in the petition at Downing Street.
Lord Dubs says: "If Britain could help child refugees 80 years ago, we can do the same today. It's #OurTurn."
Supporters will meet at the Winston Churchill Statue, Parliament Square, London, SW1P 3JX on Monday, 5 November at 10.30am.
