London: Russian singing quartet Lyra coming to Manor House

There's a rare chance to hear the Russian singing troupe Lyra, from St Petersburg, when they give a concert at the parish of St Thomas More in Manor House, north London on 13 May, as part of their UK tour.

The programme will consist of Russian Orthodox Church music in the first half, followed by lively Russian folk music in the second part.

The talented singers are: Andrey Sysoev, tenor and leader; Vera Khabarina, soprano; Zlata Gogol, mezzo; and Pavel Koroteev, baritone. Andrey Sysoev works as a choir master in St Peter's Cathedral in St Petersburg. He led a choir which performed before Saint Pope John Paul II.

The concert begins at 2pm. St Thomas More's Church is in Henry Road, Manor House, London N4 2AY. Tickets are £5. For more information or to book in advance e-mail: clivelee59@gmail.com
