Passion of Jesus in Trafalgar Square
On Good Friday, 25 March, the huge Wintershall cast and animals come to the heart of London to re-enact their annual, moving Passion and Resurrection play. This is a free event. The Passion has grown enormously over the years and now welcomes 20,000 people over two performances at 12noon and 3.15pm.
Please note that this is an open air event so clothing appropriate for the forecasted weather conditions should be worn and no seating is provided in the Square. This performance contains a realistic interpretation of the crucifixion - parental guidance is advised.
They perform it again on Easter Saturday on Guildford High Street at 12 noon and 2:30 pm.
For the London performances, big screens are provided so that the audience throughout the Square can see and hear the acting and BSL interpreters will be available.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson said: "As Londoners across the capital and beyond celebrate Easter I am delighted that The Passion of Jesus is returning to Trafalgar Square. It is a wonderful event that brings to life the Christian message and attracts people of all faiths right in the heart of our great city."
