Wales: Annual St Colette Mass at Ty Mam Duw

The Poor Clare Colettine Sisters at Ty Mam Duw are having the annual celebration of their 15th century reformer who is the patron saint of expectant mothers, would-be parents and the newly born, this Saturday. Motherhood is part of being a woman dedicated to God. The sisters have made this family celebration part of the Year of the Consecrated Life and the opportunity to ask for the gift of mercy - the indulgence offered by Pope Francis for this year - will be included along with the singing of St Colette's chaplet at 12 noon before Mass begins at 12.30. We are all consecrated to life and this is a lovely way to celebrate it. Every one is welcome!

Ty Mam Duw's logo for the Year of the Consecrated Life begins with the symbolism of the burning Bush; our primary call from the Lord.

The branches of the the bush growing out into the world become as roads and are a sign of our mission to bring the good news. The flames encircling the bush become the sunflower, the sign that our mission is childlike joy.

The sunflower in the field always turns to follow the sun; we turn our faces to the Lord and follow him. We live to let his love burn in our hearts that it may radiate into the darkness, as, in the Spirit, we carry the seeds of the sunflower on the roads of the world.
