Opportunity
for young Catholics with vision
The new International Young Leaders Network, which is supported
by CAFOD, has launched a Global Interns programme and is looking
for new 'scholars' for its ongoing main programme.
Founded by the Catholic Von Hugel Institute at St Edmunds College, Cambridge and Blackfriars Hall, University of Oxford IYLN seeks to identify, nurture, train and sustain young Christian leaders aged 18 to 33.
Its patrons and previous speakers include Fr Timothy Radcliffe OP, Archbishop Vincent Nichols, Stephen Timms MP, and Professor Francis Antonie from South Africa.
IYLN Chair Francis Davis said: "we are looking for new applications to come to Romania with us next April and then spend a week at Oxford University in September. There is no academic entry qualification but we want to meet young Christians of vision, energy, passion and compassion.
"Meanwhile, for the Global Interns Programme we are offering four months of intensive study, international exposure and a placement in a think tank, parliament or NGO - genuinely an opportunity of a lifetime lasting four months...With CAFOD behind us, and ever increasing support from ecumenical partners we know that we can help young people who want to make a difference add just that bit more value in the future."
