London:
new Theology on Tap series begins this week
The latest series of London Theology-on-Tap,
an initiative of FSPlus young adult Ministries, begins next week
with Fr Provincial, Michael Holman SJ, asking "Catholic Schools
do we need them?"
The following week Dr Ant Towey of St Mary's College, Twickenham, discusses: 'The Pelican Brief Secrets of the Universe', and the week after that Dr.Martin Poulsom SDB of Heythrop College looks at The Environment debate - what difference does belief in Creation make? This summer season ends with Dr Mike Kirwan of Heythrop College leading an evening on: Blood and the Sacred: is watching violence good for the soul?
All sessions begin at 7.15pm (or earlier if you wish) with a chance to order a snack + drink at the bar with a 7.30pm start to the presentation. After a break to recharge glasses, there is a phase of table-discussion on the points raised followed by a general plenary discussion, during which participants can listen and learn from each others' views and responses to the guest speaker's talk. There is no charge, but each speaker brings a "speaker-prize" which is raffled during the evening to help defer costs.
Please note that, once again, we have been forced to change venue for reasons beyond our control. But we do like our new home! It's the Rugby Post in Holborn, WC1 full details below.
