Cumbria: unique holiday retreat for young adults at Boarbank Hall

The fourth Thinking Faith week will take place this July at Boarbank Hall in Cumbria. This is provides a unique mix of holiday, retreat and study week for Catholic students and young. The organisers met as students, when they lived together as part of a mixed lay-religious Dominican community,

overlapping for some of the time with Fr Timothy Radcliffe. They now want to pass on to younger Catholics their experience of community living, and of reflecting on their faith from their own professional contexts. The week is hosted by the Augustinian sisters, whose beautiful convent and guest house has a stunning view over Morecambe Bay. There will also be opportunity to explore the local area and walk in the Lake District.

This year's topics will include the Human Fertility and Embryology Bill, Richard Dawkins on God, the origins of the Easter liturgy, the film 'Atonement', St Augustine in art, and the encyclicals of Benedict XVI. Fr Timothy Radcliffe has once again given THINKING FAITH his personal recommendation.
