Conor
Gearty at Theology on Tap
The current season of London Theology-on-Tap
comes to an end tomorrow evening, when Prof Conor Gearty (LSE)
will present "Is religious faith essential or inimical to
human rights?" This will conclude T-on-T's Social Justice
Season - the Church's Best-Kept Secret? - offered to young adults,
(20s & 30s) by First Sunday PLUS young adult ministries at
the Mount Street Jesuit Centre.
The young people gather at 7pm (or earlier!) and have the opportunity to get a drink and a meal at the pub before the formal start, which is usually 7.30.
The presentation from the guest speaker
is generally 30-40 minutes, followed by a break, table discussion
and a chance for open discussion, speculation, debate ... There's
been a new venue too this season: the Grouse and Claret, easy
to find in Belgravia. Just type SW1X 7AP into streetmap.co.uk.
Young adults will be very welcome tomorrow evening, or contact
theology-on-tap@fsplus.info for details of the new season of Theology-on-Tap
when it is announced.
