Holy texts
Young Catholics in Bristol are benefiting from an innovative text message service. And the first message they received reminded them of a holy day of obligation All Saints.
Students attending Mass at the University of Bristol Catholic Chaplaincy, this Sunday (28 October), signed-up to the free service
University Chaplain Father Robert King said, "Obviously mobile phones are turned off for Mass so when I read the notices this week, I think I surprised many of the students when I asked them to find their mobiles, turn them on and sign-up for our text service!"
Laura Partridge, Communications Officer for CASSOC the students society said; "As students, we're always busy dashing from one place to the next, so free text messages are a great way to help keep us in touch with our faith and stop us missing important events!"
The text service is part of a trial taking place in the Clifton Diocese that could be extended to other parishes and communities.
