London's West End gears up for Spirit in the City
Young people from all over the capital will be flocking to the West End from 13-1 July, to take part in the Spirit in the City festival.
Based in the central London Catholic
churches, there will be processions, Masses, prayer groups,
adoration, catachetical sessions, drama, music , poetry and social
events. The programme follows below:
Thursday 13th July @ Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory,
Warwick St, Piccadilly Circus
12.45am Opening Mass
1.30pm Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament 40 Hours Adoration
3pm Afternoon with the Merciful Jesus: Talk and meditation by
Fr Dermot Power, Spiritual Director of Allen Hall Seminary. Rosary,
Adoration, Social with refreshments, while Adoration continues.
6.30pm Evening Prayer and Welcome
7pm Evening Programme hosted by Soul Food
Praise and Worship Catechesis with the Franciscan Friars
of the Renewal Questions & Answers Group discussion;
refreshments; Adoration
9.30pm Procession with the Blessed Sacrament to Notre Dame de
France
10.30pm Procession Arrives, Welcome Liturgy followed by all night
vigil at Notre Dame de France
Friday 14th July @ Corpus Christi,
Maiden Lane, Covent Garden
7.30am Morning Praise at the French Church, followed by Procession
to Corpus Christi
9.30am Procession arrives and Exposition continues
1pm Mass
1.30pm Devotional Prayer Afternoon (Rosary, Litany of Loreto)
2.30pm Quiet time of Adoration continues
6.30pm Evening Prayer
7pm Evening programme hosted by Youth 2000
Catechesis: David Payne (director of CaFE)
Group Sharing, Refreshments
9.30pm Procession leaves for St. Patrick's throughout the streets
of Covent Garden and Soho
10.30pm Procession Arrives-Welcome Liturgy
11pm Exposition continues overnight at St Patrick's

6am Mass and Official conclusion of Exposition
7am Coffee Morning
12am Preparation for Street Mission: 'training', testimonies,
intercession
2pm Street Evangelisation in Soho and Leicester Sq.
Live Christian Bands on Soho Square
5.30pm Sharing of Experiences
6pm Mass with Bishop Bernard Longley and Fr Stephen Wang
7pm Agape Meal, followed by Catechesis and group sharing
9pm Taize-prayer in the church and Outreach at the West End
Sunday 16th July @Notre Dame de France
Church, Leicester Place
(Morning Mass will be celebrated in all the Churches)
3pm Thanksgiving Mass in the Theatre at French Church
4pm Poetry with Sarah de Nordwall; Drama in the Theatre
