A Night Under the Stars
'Comedy in Concert' is this year's theme of A Night Under the Stars, the gala fundraiser for The Passage Homeless centre in Westminster which takes place on Wednesday, 15 November.
The show promises a mixture of music from the classical, and not-so-classical repertoire and performances from the country's most original comedians.
Comedians Rory Bremner, Ned Sherrin, Rula Lenska, Maureen Lipman, Patricia Routledge and Miles Crawford will all be taking part. There will also be musical performances from soprano Susan Bullock, and the talented young violinist Valeriy Sokolov. The Orion Orchestra conducted by Toby Purser will accompany the evening. Streetwise Opera, the opera company that gives homeless people a voice will also be performing.
The concert will be preceded by a sumptuous reception at Banqueting House, Whitehall, accompanied by talented young musicians. After the concert, under the Reubens ceilings, there will be a champagne party with the South London Jazz Orchestra, followed by the cabaret pianist Carl Joseph performing until at least midnight.
