London: peace cyclists set out for Holy Land
Twenty four cyclists, aged 64 to 20, are setting out from different cities in Europe on Sunday, on their way to Athens, from where they will fly to Jordan before continuing biking into Israel/Palestine. The aim of the peace cycle is to bring a message of peace to the Holy Land, highlight Israel's occupation of the West Bank and Gaza and appeal to both sides to adhere to international law. The journey is non political and includes cyclists from all the major religions and many countries. The London group will be touring around the West End in an open top bus until noon when they arrive for a rally at 1pm in Hyde Park. They will set out on their journey from the north carriage drive at 3pm. For more information visit: www.thepeacecycle.org
