Caritas brings medical aid to injured in Gaza
Caritas Jerusalem has just completed a distribution of 72 wheelchairs, walkers and medical beds to injured people in Gaza. By recent incursions by the Israeli army. These resources have been directed to the most seriously affected areas in North and Eastern Gaza, which have, of late, been the scenes of great tragedy for the Palestinian people. These areas include: Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahiya, Jabalia Refugee Camp, and the Shejaeya and Maghazi regions. The Caritas Jerusalem Gaza Medical Team has been working to respond to the urgent medical situation in Gaza on the front lines of the most seriously affected regions. Dr Bandalay El Sayegh said: "The SOA 9/2006 campaign has been a godsend for so many people and their families here in Gaza. Through this program, we will continue reaching out to other Palestinians who need medical treatment. We will reach many needy people from Rafah to Beit Hanoun. There are still many who need wheelchairs, walkers and medical beds."
