Mother Teresa's image removed from Hillary Clinton campaign

Senator Hillary Clinton has removed the images of her with Mother Teresa from her campaign material for the 2008 US presidential elections. The removal of Mother's pictures came on the demands of the Missionaries of Charity and many Catholic advocacy groups such as Fidelis which termed the use of a the Blessed Mother Teresa's image as inappropriate and disturbing. Church media here quoted Fidelis president Joseph Cella as saying that it was especially disrespectful given their radically different views on abortion. New York Senator's spokesman told media that the picture was being removed at the request of the Missionaries of Charity. The CNSnews.com said on its website that the original five-minute campaign advertisement shows former President Bill Clinton talking about his wife, "Hillary in effect, was the face of America- in Africa, in India." He says this over the image of Hillary waving alongside Mother Teresa. It was presumably taken from her visit to India. The image was followed by a clip of the senator speaking before the 1995 International Conference on Women in Beijing, where she declared: "It is no longer acceptable to discuss women's rights as separate from human rights." On Hillary's campaign website the original advertisement isn't available any more. In the amended version an image of elephant is shown over the words 'in Africa, in India'. Fidelis said they were very happy "that the public campaign we waged against Hillary Clinton's wholly inappropriate use of Blessed Mother Teresa's image in a campaign video has succeeded."
