Zimbabwe: Anglicans move to expel maverick bishop

An Anglican bishop who has been at odds with most other Christian leaders in Zimbabwe for years, over his outspoken support for the Mugabe regime, may be expelled following his decision to withdraw his diocese from the province. The Anglican Province of Central Africa has started moves to expel Bishop Nolbert Kunonga of Harare after he withdrew his diocese from from the province alleging it had failed to censure bishops sympathetic towards homosexuality. Bishop Nolbert continues to use diocesan funds, offices and vehicles to finance his own self-styled ministry. Lawyers have written to Kunonga asking him to surrender church property and divest himself of the rights of being a signatory to the diocese of Harare's bank accounts and investments. A legal process has also begun to bring Harare back into the Anglican province under new leadership. ..
