New Carmelite publication: Mary and the Rosary
by Fr Hugh Clarke, O.Carm, published by St Albert's Press
This beautifully-written booklet by Fr Hugh Clarke O.Carm, contains a wealth of practical advice on prayer. He reflects on the ancient practices of Lectio Divina and the Rosary, in the context of the new 'Mysteries of Light' introduced by Pope John Paul II in his Apostolic Letter 'Rosarium Virginis Mariae'.
Fr Hugh encourages the reader to look again at the way we pray as individuals and as a Christian community, often in the context of Carmelite spirituality.
The booklet was produced by Saint Albert's Press, the newly-revived publishing house of the British Province of Carmelite Friars which stopped operating in the 1970s. In future they plan to produce a range of devotional books, as well as academic studies of the Order's history and spirituality.
Copies of Mary and the Rosary are available £3.25, plus postage and packing from: the Friars Bookshop, Aylesford, Kent, ME20 7BX e-mail: bookshop@the friars.org.uk
