Laudato Si’ Pledge
Pope Francis’ encyclical was historic. It has transformed our lives and Church, reminding us that we are to incorporate creation and all of our brothers and sisters into our life of faith. To celebrate the encyclical’s 2nd anniversary on Sunday, the Global Catholic Climate Movement is launching a Laudato Si' Pledge to encourage millions of Catholics to join them in this important ministry of caring for our common home. This pledge will be a concrete way individuals, families, and communities can commit to live in line with the teaching of Laudato Si’.
You can help us spread the word about the encyclical’s anniversary and the Laudato Si' Pledge by joining a social media Thunderclap - www.thunderclap.it/projects/58413-happy-birthday-laudato-si?locale=en

The Laudato Si’ Pledge - text below - is a way for individuals, families, and parishes to commit to the transition to renewable energy in their homes, parishes, and greater communities. The Catholic Church, together with the wider faith community, needs to stress even more the moral and spiritual dimensions of the climate crisis, which need to be addressed if the human family is to achieve any significant progress in this issue.
In Laudato Si’, Pope Francis made a forceful call to action to both the Church and all people of good will, imploring us to urgently change course in order to avoid ecological disaster. He urged us to embrace “the radical change which present circumstances require” (LS, 161) and argued that “the effects of the present imbalance can only be reduced by our decisive action, here and now” (LS, 171).
Here is the Pledge text:
Answering Pope Francis’ urgent call in Laudato Si’, I pledge to:
• Pray for and with creation
• Live more simply
• Advocate to protect our common home.
