Right to Life Annual Walk
On Bank Holiday Monday (May 29th), Archbishop Emeritus Patrick Kelly of Liverpool and Bishop John Arnold, Bishop of Salford, with Lord David Alton will be leading the sponsored Walk for Life along the beautiful Ribble Valley. Clergy, parishioners and individuals are welcome to join.
The walk will be guided by Parish Priest Mgr John Corcoran and his team of helpers.
The walk commences at 12.30pm from the Roman Catholic Church of St Michael and St John, the Parish of Our Lady of the Valley, in Clitheroe.
This year’s commemorative walk marks the fiftieth anniversary since members of Parliament voted to make lawful the taking of the life of a child in the womb. Since then over eight million have been aborted – around 600 every working day. The walk is an eight mile circuit. Lifts are provided for those unable to complete the walk. Refreshments will be provided on the way.
Only Members of Parliament can vote to give greater protection to the unborn and to protect disabled people and the terminally ill from attempts to legalise euthanasia and assisted suicide – which is why knowing where candidates stand on these issues is truly a matter of life and death.
Where Do They Stand? have created a web site which enables constituents to establish the position of individual candidates: www.wheredotheystand.org.uk
