US Jesuits to host online discussion on Trump's immigration/refugee executive orders

On Thursday, 2 February at 1pm Eastern time, (6pm in London) the Ignatian Solidarity Network (ISN) will host a conversation with policy experts from the Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States and Jesuit Refugee Service USA, to study President Trump's executive orders on immigration and refugees.

The ISN say: "The executive orders on immigration and refugee acceptance policies announced by the Trump administration last week are an affront to the Gospel-values of compassion and dignity that are at the core of the Ignatian Solidarity Network's mission. The United States has a legacy, as a nation of immigrants, to be a land where people can come seeking safety, freedom, and opportunity.

Pope Francis challenged us recently to consider how we can create an inclusive global community, saying:

'God wants us all to see one another as brothers and to live as such, forming a great human family that is harmonious in its diversity.'

In this spirit, we join Catholic and Jesuit partners in denouncing these executive orders and call on the Trump Administration and Congress to not only work for the remediation of these efforts but to seek long-term policy changes that recognize the inherent dignity and value the contributions of immigrants and refugees.

At the end of the conversation, we will be announcing a special advocacy campaign for you and your community to take action!"

The conversation will be broadcast via Facebook Live, here: www.facebook.com/IgnatianSolidarity/?utm_source=ISN+Updates+List&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=43a7542ac6-14.10.15+ISN+Updates&utm_term=0_f721035495-43a7542ac6-255752897
